Pastor
Demar Fearon
Dr. Demar Felix Fearon hails from the beautiful island of Jamaica and is the eldest of five children. He is an alumnus of Northern Caribbean University (NCU), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a minor in Business Administration.
After graduation, he accepted a call from the Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventist, where he served as Associate Pastor of the Sydenham Seventh-day Adventist District before transitioning to the Linstead District in a similar capacity. Obedient to God’s leading, Dr. Fearon later enrolled at the Andrews Theological Seminary, where he completed both a Master of Divinity and a Master of Science in Community and International Development. Following his studies at Andrews, he served as Pastor of the Seashore Seventh-day Adventist Church in New Jersey under the Allegheny East Conference of Seventh-day Adventist.
Dr. Fearon has always believed in “blooming where he is planted.” At NCU, he served as Vice President of the Ministerial Student Governing Body, and at Andrews, he continued his leadership as Vice President of the Black Students Association and the Caribbean Nations Club. In preparation for holistic ministry, he also became a certified Master Guide, Senior Youth Leader, and trained Chaplain.
Intrigued by law and justice, Dr. Fearon pursued further studies at Queens College, New York, where he earned a Graduate Certificate in Paralegal Studies. Still committed to God’s mission, he went on to complete a Doctor of Ministry in Courageous Leadership in a Changing World, with an emphasis in Preaching on Social Justice Issues, at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.
In 2021, Dr. Fearon accepted the call to the South Atlantic Conference, where he served as Pastor of the Murfreesboro and Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist Churches in North Carolina. Currently, he is serving the Ephesus Gastonia District.
A man of God, Dr. Fearon lives by the philosophy: “No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up, and never give up.” His favorite Bible verse is 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” Dr. Fearon is happily married to the love of his life, Alex Alexandria Fearon. She is a trained social worker, chef, singer, and his beloved “Caramel.” Alex holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Northern Caribbean University and a Master’s in Social Work from Barry University in Miami, Florida. She lives by the philosophy: “Trust God even if it doesn’t make sense.”
